Introduction

People need a valid Irish entry visa before arriving in the State, whether by air, sea or land. An Irish visa is placed on your passport to indicate that you are authorized to enter in the State subject to conditions.

You do not need a visa to land in Ireland if You hold a valid travel document issued in accordance with Article 28 of the Geneva Convention and if You are a family member of an EU citizen and you hold a document called “Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen”

Types of visa

When you desire to visit Ireland for a period of less than 3 months, for holidays, or business meetings or to pursue a short course of studies you can apply for a short stay ‘C’ visa for either a single entry or multiple entries. The maximum stay allowed is 90 days. It cannot be extended.

If you intend to travel to Ireland for more than 3 months, to study, or work or to settle permanently with family members (who are already resident in Ireland), please apply for a long stay ‘D’ visa for a single entry.

Re-entry visas

The first visa issued to you is valid for a single entry. If you wish to leave for a short period you are required to apply for a re-entry visa. Before you can get a re-entry visa you must be registered with the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB).

Rates

The standard visa application processing fees are:

Entry and re-entry visas: A single journey visa costs €60 and will be valid for one entry up to a maximum of 90 days from the date of issue.

A multi journey visa costs €100 and will be valid for multiple entries up to a maximum of 5 years from the date of issue.

A transit visa costs €25.

You should apply 8 weeks before you plan to come to Ireland.

Eligibility Criteria

Each course and each University reviews the students on a case by case basis. The students must have details about their suitability for studying in Ireland.

Masters – Course work

A Bachelor’s degree
A minimum of 6.5 IELTS / 65 in the PTE

Bachelors Courses

Good academic record in Xth and XIIth with a minimum percentage of 55%
A minimum of 6.0 IELTS/58 PTE
General Employment Permit:
The Irish General Employment Permit is a job-offer based work permit which allows the holder to work in a place that pays at least €30,000 per year. Either the worker or the employer can apply for this visa.

Ireland Critical Skills Employment Permit:

The Irish Critical Skills Employment Permit is a job-offer based work permit which allows the holder to work in Ireland in a place that pays at least €60,000 per year.

Dependent/Partner/Spouse Employment Permit:

The Irish Dependent/Partner/Spouse Employment Permit allows the family members of Irish work permit holders to live and work in Ireland.
